Of every question brides ask us, this is the most common — and the one where the answer most affects how calm your wedding season feels.
The short answer
For a bespoke or custom gown, order 4–6 months before your wedding date. That window gives comfortable time for design, sourcing, hand-crafting, fittings, and final alterations, without rush or anxiety.
Where the time goes
- Consultation & design — 2 to 4 weeks. We talk through your vision, sketch the design, and confirm every detail: fabric, beadwork, neckline, structure. Nothing is cut until you approve.
- Sourcing — 2 to 6 weeks. Fine lace, tulle, and crystal beading are sourced to match the design. Imported fabrics need shipping time.
- Crafting — 6 to 10 weeks. Hand-beading is slow by nature; a heavily beaded bodice alone can take weeks. We send progress updates at key milestones.
- Fittings & alterations — 2 to 4 weeks. A final fitting confirms the fit, and one round of alterations is included.
- Delivery. Local pickup in Port Harcourt, or tracked international shipping — allow 1–3 extra weeks if you're abroad.
What if the wedding is sooner than that?
Don't panic — talk to us before ruling anything out. Depending on the design and our production schedule, rush orders are sometimes possible. And our rental collection is the great short-timeline option: impeccably maintained gowns, with minor alterations arranged for fit.
Can you order too early?
Earlier than about nine months and your measurements — and taste — may genuinely change. If you fall in love with a design very early, we can lock the design and begin production closer to the date.
